Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about Tachiyomi’s end, Mihon, migration deadlines, extensions, safety and platforms — no marketing, just what is verifiably true in 2026.

Is Tachiyomi still working in 2026?

The app still runs, but it is unmaintained. The original team released the final version, v0.15.3, on January 13, 2024, and stopped development after legal pressure from Kakao Entertainment. Nothing about the app has been updated since, so extensions and sources break gradually as websites change.

What replaced Tachiyomi?

Mihon — a successor project built by members of the original Tachiyomi core team. It continues from the same codebase, uses the same library and backup format, and is actively developed (v0.21.2, October 2026). Most other Tachiyomi forks have also rebased onto Mihon.

How do I move my Tachiyomi library to Mihon?

Create a .tachibk backup in Tachiyomi (More → Settings → Data and backup), install Mihon, add your extension repositories there, then restore the backup. Do it on Mihon 0.21.x: it is the last major version line that restores .tachibk backups directly. Full steps are in our migration guide.

Why does Mihon show no extensions or sources?

By design. Mihon ships as an empty reader with only a local-files source. Online sources arrive as extensions that you install from external repositories you add under Settings → Browse → Extension repositories. There is no official Mihon extension list.

Is Mihon safe to install?

Mihon is free and open source (Apache-2.0). Install it only from the project’s official GitHub releases, and verify the SHA-256 of the file against the values published with the release — our Mihon page lists them for v0.21.2. Avoid any site offering ‘Mihon Premium’ or a paid version; no such thing exists.

Is Tachiyomi free? What about ‘Tachiyomi Plus’ or ‘Premium’?

Tachiyomi was always free and open source, and it was never sold or offered in a Plus/Pro/Premium edition. Anything using those names is unofficial and of unknown origin, and may have been modified — do not install it.

What Android version do I need?

Tachiyomi 0.15.3 requires Android 6.0 (API 23) or later. Current Mihon requires Android 8.0 (API 26) or later and targets Android 16. Devices stuck on Android 6/7 cannot run current Mihon or the current forks.

Is there a Tachiyomi or Mihon for iPhone or PC?

No. Both are Android-only, and there is no official iOS, Windows or macOS version. On a computer, the practical route is Suwayomi, a server that runs the same extension ecosystem and serves a web UI. On iPhone, independent readers such as Aidoku and Paperback exist, but they are separate projects, not ports.

What is Keiyoushi? Is it official?

Keiyoushi is a community-maintained extension repository that most guides now point to. It is not official and is not run by the Mihon or Tachiyomi teams. It is simply the repository the community consolidated around after the official extension list was removed in January 2024.

How do I verify a Tachiyomi APK?

The original GitHub repository was deleted in 2024, so the reference value for the universal package is the one published by the Uptodown archive: SHA-256 76620ad658cd97503d6e101a729c93f8b22bc7d6a3578fdeb233b98d42f7a050 for the 50.09 MB universal file. Compare your file’s hash with a hash-checker app before installing; if it differs, do not install it.

Does this site host manga?

No. Tachiyomi.wiki publishes guides and download information for reader apps. It does not host, stream or distribute manga or any other copyrighted content, and it is not affiliated with the Tachiyomi or Mihon developers.

My backup restore says ‘decryption failed’ — what now?

Update Mihon to the latest 0.21.x first, re-copy the backup file untouched, and if the backup came from a fork, re-export it from that fork’s current version. Our troubleshooting section has a dedicated guide for this error.
