Guides to the Tachiyomi forks and successor apps: Mihon-based forks, Aniyomi, Komikku, Yokai, Kotatsu/Doki, Suwayomi and the iOS question.
Short answer: there is no Tachiyomi for iOS, and there never has been. Tachiyomi and all its forks — Mihon included — are Android-only applications. Any site offering a “Tachiyomi iOS” or “Mihon IPA” download is offering something unofficial and, at best, unrelated. iPhone readers do have real options, but they are independent projects, not…
Short answer: there is no official Mihon or Tachiyomi app for Windows, macOS or Linux — both are Android-only. The proper desktop answer is Suwayomi: a server you run on your computer (any platform with Java) that works with Mihon/Tachiyomi-style extensions and serves a reading web UI to your browser. Your phone’s Mihon can even…
Short answer: Kotatsu, the independent manga reader, is no longer maintained — its GitHub repository has been archived, with activity stopping in November 2025. Its continuation is Doki (by DokiTeam, GPL-3.0), which describes itself as “continuing the success of Kotatsu”. Kotatsu users should plan a move; everyone else should start with Doki rather than the…
Short answer: Komikku (v1.14.1, July 2026) and Yokai (v1.10.2, September 2026) are community forks in the Mihon family tree — Komikku grows out of the Mihon/SY line, Yokai is a Mihon fork in its own right. Both are actively maintained, read the same extension repositories, and accept the family’s backup format, so trying one costs…
Short answer: Aniyomi is the fork for readers who also watch anime: it takes the Tachiyomi/Mihon design and adds video extensions, so one app tracks both manga chapters and anime episodes. The current release is v0.18.2.1 (September 2026), from the official aniyomiorg/aniyomi GitHub repository. How Aniyomi works Like Mihon, Aniyomi itself ships empty: manga sources…
Short answer: TachiyomiAZ (“AZ”) is one of the oldest names in the Tachiyomi fork family, and its current line (v8.9.1-AZ, August 2026) is — by its own README — a fork of Mihon. It aims to gather features and fixes from across the fork ecosystem (its lineage runs through TachiyomiEH) into one app, and it…
Short answer: TachiyomiJ2K (“J2K”) is the long-running independent fork known for its clean, opinionated interface. The current release, v1.8.1 (August 2026), follows the 1.8.0 redesign in Google’s Material 3 Expressive style, supports the new tachiyomix 1.6 extension format and index.pb repository indexes — and it dropped Android 6/7: J2K now requires Android 8.0 or later….
Short answer: TachiyomiSY (“SY”) is the power-user fork of the Tachiyomi family. Its current line (v1.13.2, July 2026) is based on Mihon, and it layers on features stock Mihon does not have: tracker-powered recommendations, automatic webtoon detection, custom source categories, a lewd-content filter, enhanced EH/ExHentai support, and tools to merge the same series from multiple…
